Plunderer Part 2!
I was really thrilled to get to provide sound design, do dialog editing/clean up as well as mix and master the latest trailer for FUNimation’s Plunderer Part 2. As some of you know, I got my start working in Anime and it’s just such a blast. Each show and trailer is so unique from the next and the people I get to collaborate with are top notch. Read more below about the process I use when mixing and mastering these trailers. I hope you enjoy the Plunderer Part 2 trailer!
The Process
For those that don’t know, the way show trailers are made is they take material from the show (usually dialog, sound design and dialog as well as footage of course) and edit it all together. But in most cases, even with the very best of editors, there are things that can be polished or tweaked. That’s where I come in. I take the edit and then make all of these various sources work together.
In most cases all of the text graphics or end slates are silent, so I’ll need to add sound design to each of those sections. Likewise, I’ll go through and find moments where the sound design from the show could be beefed up so it “speaks” well in a trailer edit. Finally, I’ll mix it all and master it so it’s ready for mass consumption. The entire thing is a really fun process and I love getting to flex some different audio muscles than what my normal day job requires!
I should have more updates for you on other projects and things soon. Stay cool!
