1000 Episodes! What a milestone!
Not many shows can say they’ve reached 1000 episodes but One Piece can! I was very honored to get to provide sound design and do the mix and mastering of the teaser trailer for FUNimation. Check it out below! There are some more FUNimation things I’ll share once they’re public. Stay tuned… pun intended.
One more piece about…er… One Piece.
See what I did there? I came across this amazing graphic and wanted to share it. This artwork commemorates One Piece hitting 1000 episodes. Talk about beautiful artwork! Even if you’re not super familiar with the show, you can appreciate the craft and skill that goes into creating something like THIS! You can read more about it here.
Skateboards, Beats and Birds
I was asked to give a talk about my approach to creating the SkateBIRD soundtrack by the Austin Game Audio Meet Up. The talk took place on Thursday night and I was very flattered by the invitation! Since I was talking to a room of fellow audio pros, I decided to touch on various spots in several tracks from the OST that I felt were notable and/or cool. I also discussed some of the things that worked really well for us as a team, as well as some of the lessons I learned for the next time! 😛 I did a deep dive of The Heron for my Youtube channel and plan to do more of these.
If you’re interested in these kinds of break downs, check out The Heron below!
SHORT N SWEET
Two more things to note – SkateBIRD updates have dropped on all of the platforms now! For those that don’t know, Steam updates roll out MUCH faster than the consoles. The Xbox and Switch versions is now up to date with a lot of nice tweaks and enhancements to the game. Also Megan Fox, of Glass Bottom Games, shared that SkateBIRD became profitable! This is a HUGE milestone for an indie game and team of this size! Kudos to the entire team for this achievement and to all of the fans and supporters of the game! We couldn’t have done this without all of you.
That’s about it for this update. Still staying busy with plenty of work and am excited to share more as I can. In the meantime, I’m looking forward to Thanksgiving and Xmas! Oh and Happy Halloween! Where is the time going?! I also need to eat less Kit Kats. How are you?
