It’s ALIVE! Quidditch Champions is out!
It’s out! Harry Potter Quidditch Champions is live!
It’s hard to put into words what this project has meant for me on both a professional and personal level. I’ve grown and learned so much. The folks I get to collaborate with are ridiculously talented, intelligent and kind. On a daily basis, I’m inspired and humbled by this crew. Thank you Unbroken Studios for all that you’ve taught and done for me.
For the team toast, I saved my favorite beer, New Holland Brewery’s Dragon’s Milk because… hey, there’s dragons in the Wizarding World. I played a few matches this morning and then have watched some streamers play the game. Lots of positive remarks and experiences from what I’ve seen!
HUGE, special thanks to Brad Snyder who hired me on back in 2022! I loved getting to work with you and learned so much from you. So much of Brad’s sonic fingerprint is still felt and heard in the game.
Check out the game on Xbox, PS4/5, Steam and Epic Games. Go play and soar!!!
Streamers React
Here are three live streams of the game that I watched off and on this morning while doing some other tasks. Their enthusiasm is contagious!
Players React
So far, much of the reception has been pretty positive! I’ve seen players figuring out ways to do trick shots, they love the PS1 Hagrid helmet and the reviews on Steam are going well too!
Back to School
I’m teaching my third year at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. This class is such a joy for me. I love getting a chance to work with students and see how much passion and creativity they bring to game audio development. Teaching any can be such an undertaking because it forces you to question everything. Why do I work in the manner I do? Why do I prioritize certain things over others? What if my approach isn’t the best? Teaching makes you answer these kinds of questions and many more.
That’s about it for now. I’ve got some other irons in the fire currently but nothing I can publicly talk about. I’m also just glad that school’s back in session and things are a bit quieter around the house. 😛 Also, our goldendoodle is still COMPLETELY INSANE but I suppose we’ll keep her.
How are you all? What games are you playing and what are you looking forward to this season?
